How to Start Exercising. . .Again.

Life started happening. Something got in the way and we lost track of what we were doing. We got off program but we aren’t finished. Not yet.

Here are a few tips on how to get back on track with your fitness:

1. Just start with something easy.
You don’t have to go all in like gangbusters when you start a fitness routine. Start slow and easy. Maybe a walk around the block a few times a week. Do some jumping jacks or setups when you get up in the morning. Start from where you are now and not where you were when you got off track.

2. Remember how good it makes you feel.
No, I’m not talking about how it makes you feel halfway through a workout when all you want to do it quit. It happens no matter where you are in your fitness journey. Instead, think about how it makes you feel after you are done with that workout. Think about how you feel one week after you start. And think about how you will look and feel in 30 days or 2 months.

3. Get an exercise buddy or a coach.
Everything is better with a buddy! Find a like-minded friend and workout together. Use each other for praise and encouragement. It’s a great way to stay accountable, too! Or, find a coach like the ones we have at my gym, The Pink Physique.  Coaches are excellent cheerleaders and will definitely help keep you on the straight and narrow fitness road while teaching you how to use the equipment in the gym to your advantage.

4. Do it for yourself, not anyone else.
YOUR fitness can’t be about anyone else than you. Do it for yourself and see your hard work pay off and your confidence grow.
